EquiHeart is an Equine Assisted Growth and Learning program located at Ridgeway Place, Waverly Hall, GA. You can read more about EquiHeart and The Equine Encounter at www.equiheart.com.
EquiHeart was founded by Mary Ellen Connett, licensed marriage and family therapist, in 2001. My original horse, Sunny, is still working with me and is my soulmate on this journey. Recently, we lost our beloved Sven through a battle with colic. We are heartbroken in our mourning over the loss of Sven. Sven was a horse of true resilience in body and spirit. He had won the battle with a torn suspensory ligament, although it ended his dressage career. Sven also recovered from severe white line disease and laminitis. And, in 2019, Sven, along with Sunny, even survived a tornado that ravaged our farm. Sadly, we could not defeat the colic that ended Sven’s life on November 30, 2022.
Your donation will help us rebuild and recover. In Sven’s memory and to honor his resilience, I am planning to rescue a wild mustang, Rocket, who I came to know and love in the Sand Wash Basin, CO in 2020. Rocket and his entire band, and over 300 other wild mustangs in the Sand Wash Basin, were gathered while chased by helicopter in September, 2021. This is a devastating trauma for the wild horses and the humans that love them. Rocket has been in a holding facility, a horse “prison,” in CO and is up for adoption/purchase in January 2023.
I appreciate any and all donations that will help us bring Rocket home to GA, pay for his transport, his “gentling” process, and his care once in the EquiHeart program. I hope Rocket will be one of many more wild mustangs we can bring home to EquiHeart and give them a new start in a caring horse world where they will never have to fear for their safety again! Thank you so very much!
Note: EquiHeart is NOT a non-profit organization. We do not receive any funding of any kind. So, your donation is doubly appreciated as it comes from your generous heart to EquiHeart!
